What is Total Body Photography?
Total Body Photography is a photographic procedure in which the skin covering most of the body is documented in a series of professional quality sectional photos.

What are the benefits of Total Body Photography?
Total Body Photography can be used to reveal new moles or subtle changes in existing moles that can indicate melanoma in its earliest stage when it has the highest chance of being cured. It can also prevent unnecessary excisions of moles that are not changing over time.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?
You do not need a doctor's referral for our Total Body Photography service.

Will I need to be naked for the photographs?
No, you do not need to remove your underwear for Total Body Photography. It is suggested you wear neutral or light coloured underwear (light grey or skin tone preferred). This will help maximize the quality of the photographs.

How often do I need to have the photos taken?
In most cases the photos only need to be taken once.  There is no need to repeat the photo set unless you have a significant change in your body. This would include extreme weight gain or loss, pregnancy or the development of many new moles.

What do I do with the photos?
The photos can be used for self examination and it is recommended you take them with you when you have a skin check with your doctor or dermatologist.

How can I be sure that the images remain private?
All images are processed and printed by us and will be sent to you by registered post.

When and how can I pay for the service?
Payment is requested at the time of the appointment and payment options include cash, EFTPOS and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard).

Is the equipment used to take the images safe?
The equipment used for Total Body Photography is normal photographic equipment and is in no way harmful.

What format are the photographs provided in?
Images can be provided as high quality, A4 size, colour photographs and digitally on CD with specilaised viewing software.

Do you take a close up view of all my moles?
A close-up of each individual mole is not required. The 24 view system ensures that the images are close enough to detect most changes.

Can I have close up photographs taken of the moles?
If you or your doctor requests that close up images are taken of particular moles then we can provide those for you.
